Are you happy? Do you feel fulfilled? In my last post I wrote about male and female happiness. One thing I didn’t mention is that people living in developing countries were found to be happier than people living in modern countries. But why?
To answer that question I think we need to look at marketing. We are living in a culture where everything has a shelf life, including our feelings about possessions, jobs and relationships. This may lead many of us to feel that we are in a perpetual state of ‘missing out’.
On the flip side our desire to continuously improve has helped our civilisation to develop, amongst other things, new technologies and medicines.
Do you feel under pressure to have the latest possessions, or have more fun, or find a ‘better’ partner? What do you feel this says about our culture?

What a awesome find! I’m glad I found this Am I Having Fun Yet? | Counselling Central blog.
Really enjoyed this! Well done!
