A number of today’s personality tests are based on the work of Carl Jung (1875-1961). Jung became a colleague and friend of Sigmund Freud after having met him in Vienna in 1907. Unfortunately the two men didn’t always agree when it came to matters of theory, and Freud notoriously disliked people who disagreed with him. Jung eventually went his own way and developed a school of thought which he called ‘Analytical Psychology’.

One of the theories that I find interesting is ‘types and functions’ which Jung used to analyse the personality. Katharine Briggs and her daughter Isabel Briggs Myer found this theory so revealing of people’s personalities that they developed a test, which is still commonly used today.

If you would like to take the test, known as the Briggs-Myer Indicator, you can click on the link below. before you do here are some things to think about before taking the test.

Go with the first answer that comes to mind.

Don’t change your answers.

On completion of the test you will be given a four letter personality type.

Your personality type will be described based on these letters.

Let me know if you agree with the result. I’m always interested to get your feedback.

So if you want to discover more about your personality type you can take the Briggs-Myer test by clicking here

You can also find out more about your ‘type’ by clicking here

If you are concerned by any issues that arise from taking this test, you can make an appointment to discuss them with me. My details are on the ‘contact’ tab at the top of this page.
